Being in my 50s has seen the passing of my mom (last grandparent for my kids), my sister-in-law and another friend of my generation which was a real jolt. That plus some health issues of my own have really opened my eyes to the need for enjoying life to the fullest and taking care of myself and my family.
My husband, Larry, is a Propmaker and currently working on “Medium”. He builds sets and props for movies and TV shows. His talents have also designed and built our home, and he’s constantly tweaking little improvements on the house as well as his Harley. We like to go on motorcycle rides, walks on the beach and the occasional camping trip. Our older son, Max, 13, is an 8th grader. He plays piano and flute, likes to create flash animation on his laptop, does Tae Kwon Do and will be in his 6th season as a Junior Lifeguard this year. Lucas is 11 and in 6th grade. He plays piano, likes to build amazing structures with Rokenbok, dances at school and does Tae Kwon Do. He’s training now to tryout for JG and join his older brother on the beach in the summer.
Max and Lucas.
After 21 years, I’ve downsized my production company, The M Company, Inc.. We produce commercials and short films mostly for the Japanese market, plus do a lot of research and liaising for our clients in Japan. Working from home with help from freelance staff as needed is a brand new paradigm for me. The extra time allows me to spend more time with the kids and do more “preferred activities” like yoga and power walking on the beach. Life is good despite all the uncertainties! My best to everybody and hope to hear from you if you want to see an old classmate in Venice, CA.
