photo unavailable I attended ASIJ for only three years (4th - 6th grade). Many of the names are unfamiliar but some ring a faint bell deep in my brain. After leaving Japan in '68, I moved to South Dakota, graduating from New Effington High School with 67 students in the entire high school. My class had 15 kids. At least I knew everyone.

After graduating from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, I taught music in Pelican Rapids, MN. I married a Concordia grad in '84 and we have three children (Brienne, 14; Jordan, 13; Nelson, 10). Escaping the freezing winters of MN, we moved to Ternecula, CA where I teach high school vocal music and my wife, Melanie, is an elementary principal.

Over the years, I have continued to receive news about some of you but have not really pursued the issue. This web site seems like a good way to get my name out there to see if anyone remembers the shy little kid who had a crush on Erika White and who got harassed quite often by Andrew Parker.

One of my fondest memories was being read to after lunch every day by Mr. Dennis (I think that was his name). I have returned to Japan twice, once with a teacher exchange and once with a high school choir. We have a sister high school in Sasebo and Ternecula's sister city is Nakayama in southwestern Honshu. It was a great opportunity to bring out those fond memories of living in Japan.

If anyone out there would like to get in touch, send me an email!
